High Dynamic Range Photograpy is a process of digital image manipuation which combines multiple photographs of the same subject, taken at different light exposures, into one image, giving it not only more visual balance and depth, but also more interest and excitement than you could find in a common "snapshot".
For these three exposures, in the normal exposure (at the top), the row of vehicles was very prominent and took attention away from the real subject. But by using that portion of the image from the short exposure (in the middle) it allows our attention to shift to the architecture. From the long exposure (at the bottom) I used portions of it to accent the light in the windows of the central building and the glow on the tower. All these elements blended together make a much more eye catching image than a single photo by itself could ever be. |
